Smart Grid SOA Project Technical Lead responsible for designing and implementing a BizTalk Server 2010 interface for a Smart Grid SOA integration. The new interface integrates the in-house Customer Information System running on DB2 with the Landis+Gyr Command Center web services API to automate connects, disconnects, and meter readings for customers that have smart meters. This portion of the new system increases profitability by reducing the frequency that power company workers physically visit the meters. The interface also handles communication between the Customer Information System and the Verizon Field Force Manager mobile dispatch system to assign and deploy workers for meters that lack smart meter capabilities. Other duties included providing guidance for the architecture and implementation of a distributed, highly available BizTalk Server 2010 and SQL Server 2008 R2 infrastructure. We implemented a SQL Server 2008 R2 cluster to host the databases. We configured an active-passive cluster for the Enterprise Single Sign-On Master Secret Server. We configured Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator MSDTC as a clustered resource. We also clustered database receive hosts to provide automatic failover fault tolerance.
